The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) is a package of funds aimed at stimulating rural development. It is jointly funded by the Government and the EU through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The Regional Development Agencies have been charged with managing the delivery of the RDPE and the Programme will run from 2009 until 2013.

The Northern Fells Village Agents scheme was set up in 2009, based on successful similar projects elsewhere In England. Our 4 agents were appointed to signpost people in our communities to the services that can help them.
