This Lleyn sheep, with its head sticking through the gate
at Whale Farm, is the lead sheep. A group of sheep is urged
into a line which leads up to a channel slightly above the
shearing platform. Once one sheep goes, the rest follow
on the basis that if one of them is up there, then it must
be OK. The fact that it is stuck doesn't register. The lead
sheep remains there with its head held by the gate while
all the followers are shorn, and is the last one of that
group to receive attention. There is a moral in this somewhere.
