The "La'al Ratty" - more formally the Ravenglass
and Eskdale narrow gauge railway, connects the coast and
the hills in magnificent style. However, on the odd occasion
it has to give way to Herdwick Power, as the flock cross
the line on their way from Fisherground to the fell. According
to the notice, there is a £25 fine for trespassing
on the line.....anyone who can get £25 out of a Herdwick
ewe is doing very well!
