The grit boxes put out by the Cumbria County Council on
our mountain roads are a great attraction to the fell sheep.
A mixture of gravel and rock salt provides the perfect mineral
supplement…..free! Here a ewe with her lamb looking
on helps herself to the vital minerals. This is on Uldale
Brow on the road from Bassenthwaite to Caldbeck over Ellerbeck
Common.
